We are back with our second blog on Super Woman. We want to focus on Proverbs 31:27, "She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." One thing that is looked upon as "good" in high school is procrastination. High schoolers procrastinate on schoolwork, studying, chores, etc. BUT, the Proverbs 31 woman did not procrastinate. She was not lazy or idle in her ways. She was diligent. As we said in our last blog, we are striving to be like Super Woman.
In the last Girl's Workshop we talked about the diligence of Super Woman. Christa said that we need to be diligent today in order to be that way in the future. Our future habits and work ethic will be reflections of who we are now. Now that it is a new year we are making resolutions to seize our time in order to prepare to be a "Lady of the House" or, in other words, future wives. Being a wife is an all-hours job. We must prepare to be diligent now and use our time efficiently so we will be able to manage a household wisely. How can we, as high school girls, practically practice diligence now?
#1. Have a consistent quiet time everyday. Set aside a chunk of time for prayer and Bible study. This has to be a priority now because we will only get busier.
#2. Stop procrastinating. Get your schoolwork done when it is assigned. Do your chores the first time your parents tell you-- obey them right away.
#3. Prepare to be a wife now. How good are you at organizing, cleaning, doing laundry? Can you manage money? Can you cook-- make a sandwich per say? Can you sense the needs of others around you-- their comforts and struggles? When we are wives, our kids and husbands will look to us when things go wrong! We have to have a non-freakingoutness! How are you going to learn to do all these? Become an "intern" under your mom.
These are some practical things to start applying now in order to become a diligent woman of God. Let's remember 1 Timothy 5:10-15 pertaining to idleness. "Idle hands are in the devil's workshop"-- Pastor Mike.
